Third consecutive Pharma Innovation Award for Single Use Support

RoSS.PADL, the homogenizing solution from Single Use Support, was awarded the 2024 Innovation Award by Pharma Manufacturing.

RoSS.PADL is a platform that standardizes the cooling & heating of single-use bags while gently kneading it to ensure a homogeneous mixture of manufacturer’s drug substance. 

• The kneading mechanism enables homogenization of liquids to support consistent cell counts throughout the filling process into single-use bags. 
• The cooling helps accelerate the process and provides temperature control, especially for temperature-critical cells, to prevent reduction in cell viability.

Pharma Manufacturing, a brand of Endeavor Business Media, has again recognized a product innovation from Single Use Support with the Pharma Innovation Award. 

For the third year in a row, a Single Use Support's product solution was among the winning technologies selected by the editors in conjunction with Pharma Manufacturing's Advisory Board. According to the editors the awards program is "a celebration of technologies contributing to advancements in risk reduction, product quality and manufacturing efficiency and a celebration of the behind-the-scenes, often unsung progress that contributes very meaningfully to patient wellness". Already in 2022, Single Use Support could win the Innvoation Award with its automated aliquoting solution RoSS.FILL CGT. In 2023 the controlled plate freeze-thaw platform RoSS.pFTU XL was among the winners.

Cool & Gentle Bag Homogeneity

The combination of kneading and cooling single-use bioprocess containers in one machine directly before the filling process is unique. It assists the ATMP industry and other novel therapies, such as cell-based suspensions, antibody-drug conjugates, bacterial fermentation and more in homogenizing pharmaceutical liquids that easily aggregate and form deposits when not in motion. 
As a result, patient safety is greatly improved as it reduces aliquot-to-aliquot deviations in cell count, concentration level and active ingredient during aliquoting into smaller single-use bags or medical devices. The consistency in each filled bag results in more accurate and reproducible dosing of drug efficacy for the patient.
